Google Acquires Software Developer PeakStream
I just caught this over on WebmasterWorld and had to share is since I hadn’t seen it elsewhere. Props to engine on the find:
Google has acquired PeakStream, a start-up selling tools for writing software that can take advantage of multicore processors as well as graphics and gaming chips, according to published reports.
Newer computers contain advanced processors, but it’s often a challenge to write software that can unlock that power. PeakStream and competitor RapidMind are working just that problem.
